Postpartum Doula Care
New Orleans, LA & Metairie, LA

The early days after baby is born are some of the most magnificent and challenging a person can go through. I'll be there to help you navigate the opportunities and struggles and build confidence advocating for your own needs and caring for your little one. And most importantly, I'll find ways to care for you.

Intentional nourishment for mind, body, and soul.

I approach my work as a Postpartum Doula with deep reverence for the way early motherhood impacts the rest of our lives. My support is multifaceted and intentionally broad - I bring practical and strategic ideas, creativity, and a wide body of knowledge to my work. I customize my focus and intentions for each family, meeting them wherever they are.

What might a postpartum visit look like?

CARING FOR YOU

NOURISHMENT

My goal is to leave your space more peaceful than when I arrived. I'll do whatever I can to support your bond with baby. This might look different for each client, but some of my services include feeding support (for you and baby), tidying up, answering any questions you might have about what's normal for you and baby, helping with older siblings, or caring for the baby so that you can get some rest.

I'll get to know your preferences and come up with sustaining and easy meals and snacks that sound good to you and your family. You can pick up ingredients and I'll poke around your pantry/fridge/freezer to leave you ready to heat options for in between visits.

NEWBORN CARE

SIBLING SUPPORT

Newborns are funny little beings, and if you haven't had a ton of experience, it can feel overwhelming to navigate caring for one. I'll help you get more comfortable with whatever you need - soothing, feeding, basic care. And I'll happily care for baby while you get much deserved rest or alone time.

In many ways, adding another baby to the family is less overwhelming than the uncharted territory of having your first. But with new siblings comes new challenges and opportunities to create a highly supportive home and family dynamic to ease the transition for all. I bring with me my experience as a mother of three and intentional parenting advocate.

BUILDING A FOUNDATION

SUPPORT TEAM COORDINATION

The attachment we form with our caregivers sets the stage for our adult relationships and much of our physical and emotional health. Based on what we know about neuroscience, attachment, and primal health, I'll help you and your partner connect with your baby's experience and development so that you can embrace more of the wonder and joy that the first year can bring.

In the early months after giving birth, productivity and planning take the back seat. You're healing, you're adjusting, and your brain is almost completely focused on keeping your new little human alive. It's at times shocking how hard something that was once so simple can be when you're in the thick of the newborn days. So when you're thrown a curveball (feeding issues, physical complications, emotional instability), finding the support you need can feel all but impossible. I can help you identify your needs and find providers.

BIRTH STORY PROCESSING

SOMATIC HEALING

Childbirth is such a sensory experience, sometimes the brain needs time to catch up with what the body went through. I'll be there to listen as you tell your story, so that you can find any tender spots that might need extra care. Also, it can feel really good to celebrate what did go well. Your story deserves the space to be told.

I'm an advocate for body-up healing modalities, and I think they're even more impactful after pregnancy and birth. This looks like simple practices to release tension and trauma and to restore by tapping in to the parasympathetic state. This isn't just great for your healing, but because baby co-regulates through your nervous system, the effects ripple outward.
